Katy and Eric got married at Esperanza resort in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. The young couple is from southern California. She’s a horse trainer and he is a real estate broker. They first met at a friend’s birthday, making an immediate connection and being inseparable ever since. They chose to get married in Cabo because Mexico has always been the place to travel for them, especially when they started dating. They went to Cabo close to 6 or 7 times and to them, the small beach town is the most beautiful part of Mexico.
They envisioned a small wedding, in a bohemian Spanish style, relaxed, with loved ones. The couple wanted their guests to experience Esperanza “as it’s one of the most beautiful places in the world.”
Bride and groom had a large wedding party with their closest friends as well as their siblings, the groom’s sister, and the bride’s brother. Their sweet nature and great vibes came through upon meeting their bridesmaids and groomsmen, all who know the couple very well. The best man is the groom’s childhood friend and his wife, the maid-of-honor, is also best friends with the bride.
The couple gave cute gifts to their wedding party, the groom went all out with a Dakine backpack, awesome Stance socks, Nordstrom square pockets. The bridesmaids wore Shona Joy dresses in different styles and colors, pastel warm tones. Groomsmen wore light grey suits with no tie, a contrast to the groom’s dark grey, three-piece, suit and white tie.
The bride chose a stunning Berta Balilti gown with details that shimmered in the sunset light. Katy chose a side swept hair with a flower piece that brought a pop of color. She picked simple and comfortable shoes. The flowers in her bouquet were a loose mix of greenery, orange and white roses paired with magenta bougainvilleas.
The ceremony was officiated by a friend of the family that knew the bride since she was a kid. They chose the pool terrace with the ocean as a gorgeous background, frame by a circular wedding arch bursting with leaves and colorful flowers.
The outdoor reception and cocktail hour at the Aire terrace, where the bar was serving the bride’s signature cocktails: Smokey margarita. At the reception area rectangle, wooden tables with greenery and blooms loose over the tables accented by golden votives. For table numbers, the bride chose blue crystals, also used to display the name of each guest at their designated seat, the wedding’s party favor.
The party kicked off under the large palapa at Aire’s room where the couple had their first dance while guests held sparklers, followed by cake cutting and the traditional bouquet toss.

The couple chose to skip a first look, not wanting to take away from the bride’s processional, the couple didn’t mind missing their cocktail hour. The hour after the ceremony, while guests mingled and left messages on the wedding’s guest book, the couple had their portraits done at the beach with the sun going down and shimmering beautifully off the bride’s dress.
The toasts made by siblings during the reception were powerful and heartfelt. The couple’s first dance was especially lovely, surrounded by sparklers bride and groom showed they can move.
